dear friends,
life has its ups and downs. if you are down, just pray and learn to appreciate life that at least you have
all the basic needs of life that is food, shelter and clothings. when you look at the recent disasters our
neighbouring countries are having they are not able to get on with daily life . to them they have nothing
to look forward to, no future. they have so much sufferings and sorrows that they do not have time and
energy to feel life is meaningless.
pity are the children of these countries, they are so young and innocent yet they have to face these
disasters. we should treasure ourselves, our parents and all those around us and not take them for
granted. we should not think that life is unfair bored meaningless when you have no food all your mind
think of is to how to get it to fulfill your stomach; if you have no shelter, your mind is focus on how to
get one over your head to shield from sun and rain; if you have no clothing, you will feel ashamed
and will try to get one to cover yourselves up. all these we now have but yet we are not happy. why?
because we are not satisfied. we thirst for more pleasures. pleasures like having more money, more
enjoyments like holidays, more shopping, etc. but yet we are never contented. i believe that if we
take some time to save the world to do charity like help those less fortunate than us it is more
fulfilling than anything in this world.
after reading this morning newspaper about india ,pakistan and afghanistan' disaster, i felt so sad for them and at the same time felt that life is so precious and unpredictable. i really felt so distressed to know that so many young children had died in this disaster. they are innoccent and have not gone through the whole process of childhood yet they perished so soon from this world. this makes me feel that we should not take things for granted in life. we must learn to treasure people around us. people like our families, friends especially our parents because without them, we are not possible to exist. not forgetting our spouses and our precious children. we should find some time even a few minutes of companionship between spouses is to me a moment of love, a understanding between us that i love your presence even it is just a few minutes or seconds. i feel that we should also educate or teach our children to treasure our presence in their life and to remind them that they are the luckiest children in this world. finally, i pray that all those who suffered, those who perished, those who have lost their love ones that time will heal their pain and wish that they would be strong to carry on living. i wish for world peace and peace and harmony among our fellow singaporeans.
